On the 24th November 2022 at St Vedast-alias-Foster we installed our 9th Master, Gary Dixon. With a service overseen by the church's Rector: The Reverend Paul Kennedy and our Honorary Chaplain; The Reverend Sophia Acland, the incoming Master swore his oath to Master Judy Hadden. Gary's first act was to then immediately bestow the roles of Perpetual Past Master and Immediate Past Master upon Judy Hadden

 

He then installed Mark Huxley as Senior Warden, Sheriff Alderman Alastair King DL as Middle Warden and James Talbot as the Junior Warden. Following readings by the Master and Senior Warden prayers of thanksgiving were made. During the service the congregation were treated to a wonderful rendition of Swing Low Sweet Chariot. Something that with the acoustics of the church really did make the hairs stand up on everyone's neck!

The service complete, and with the customary procession by the new Master and his Wardens, they and the congregation returned to Goldsmith's Hall to celebrate the installation and toast the new Master. We wish Gary and his Wardens a successful year.
