Join the Company

All full members of the Company, both men and women, are known by the traditional title of Freeman.

Membership – the Freedom of the Company – is formally granted at a Freedom Ceremony which family, friends and business associates can attend. The Freedom of the Company is also the first step to becoming a senior member of the Company - a Liveryman Entrepreneur.

Prospective members of the Company will either be known to and proposed by two members or can come along to one of our informal meet-ups where they can meet members and arrange for sponsors to support their application. The Company hosts an informal event every month (see events page for details), where prospective members, or anyone interested in learning more about the work of the Company can come along and meet existing Freemen.

The Quarterage (annual subscription – historically paid in quarters, but now paid annually in December) for all Freemen is currently £395.

A core commitment of Freeman Entrepreneurs is to support the Company’s charitable activities and the most tangible way to do this is to make regular donations to the Company of Entrepreneurs Trust.

Donations of £1,000 or more by any one individual or organisation in any one Company Year are recorded on a permanent list of Principal Benefactors. If you would like to make a donation of £1,000 or more, please contact the Clerk for more details.

If you would like to make a major gift to the Company of Entrepreneurs Trust, please contact the Clerk to discuss a range of incentives.

I solemnly and sincerely declare that I will obey and be true to His Majesty King Charles the Third, and to his heirs and successors, Kings, and Queens of the Realm, my country and the laws which govern me and my fellow Freemen;

And that I will honour the mysterie and art of Entrepreneurship and of all those who practise as Entrepreneurs;

And that I will behave at all times, now and hereafter, as becomes a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs and will, with deference, pay my dues to The Master, Wardens and Clerk;

And that I will uphold the rules and customs of the City of London, and of my Company and do everything in my power to hinder such persons as might conspire against us;

And that I will always treat others as I would wish to be treated - with honesty and integrity, in the spirit of the traditional City principle that, ‘My Word is my Bond’;

And I now declare that if I ever commit, or intend to commit, an evil deed or hurt against the values or obligations of those who practise as Entrepreneurs I will forfeit my honour and my status as a Freeman of this Company.
