The February Supper 2025 – An Evening of Firsts!

On Thursday, 20th February, The Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs, the newest Livery Company, number 112, gathered for its inaugural dinner at the historic Coopers’ Hall. This event marked a significant milestone in the Company’s journey, celebrating the dedication and vision that led to its foundation.

Coopers’ Hall, a distinguished townhouse and City Livery Hall, dating back to the 13th century has long been the home of the Coopers’ Livery Company, which was established in the 11th century. The Hall’s rich history provided a fitting and elegant backdrop for this important occasion, highlighting the deep-rooted traditions of the Livery movement while welcoming the newest members of this esteemed community.

The evening commenced with the first-ever Court Meeting of The Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs, where foundations are set for the governance Company’s future.

Following the meeting of the Court was the formal Admission of three new Freemen: Gillian Palmer, Jacqueline O’Donovan, and Harry Shaw. Their inclusion marks an exciting step forward in the development of our Company, and we are delighted to welcome them into our ranks.

Members and guests then gathered in the beautiful dining room of Coopers’ Hall. With its grand high ceilings and classic décor, the room provided an intimate yet distinguished setting for our select group of 34 attendees. The atmosphere was warm and convivial, allowing for lively discussions and the forging of new connections over a buffet dinner, accompanied by the gentle chime of the elegant wall clock.

During the evening, the Master extended a heartfelt welcome to the newly admitted Freemen and took a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey that led to this inaugural event. He expressed his sincere appreciation to everyone who had contributed to the formation of The Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs, acknowledging the vision and dedication that had been instrumental in bringing this Company to life. Special recognition was given to Judith Donovan whose tireless efforts over more than a decade helped transform an idea into reality and to Dan Doherty who was instrumental in setting this achievement as a vision.

The inaugural dinner was a moment of celebration, tradition, and optimism for the future. As we look ahead, we do so with a strong sense of purpose and a commitment to fostering entrepreneurship within the Livery movement.
