Twenty-two of us met at London Wall at 9:30 for a rather delicious bacon roll and coffee. Master Mark Huxley had organised a video advertising van as our float with supporting film with our sponsors, Freeman Eric Khaw’s Daku Coffee. Suitably fortified, we started the three-mile route to Aldwych and back.
We were looking very smart kitted out with blue bonnets and Company of Entrepreneur umbrellas. Thankfully It was dry and there was a good crowd. The umbrellas really did lift our presence and we made quite an impact as we walked down Gresham Street.
The BBC were waiting for us on the corner with Princes Street. The Master gave a very good interview to Radzi Chinyanganya, of Blue Peter fame.
The umbrellas really did lift our presence and we made quite an impact as we walked past Mansion House. The Lord Mayor beamed and gave us an extra big wave of his tricorne hat.
Onward we walked to the Royal Courts of Justice. The Clerk did a marvellous job rallying the crowd as we high-fived the young and the old who lined both sides of the street.
After a picnic lunch by Temple tube, we returned via the Embankment.
It was a great day. We saw many old friends and many new ones too. Hopefully one will repeat soon.
Thank you to The Master, Mark Huxley and the Clerk for making it all happen.
Here is a little video of the day...
