In a moment of great excitement, on Wednesday 10th July, the Chief Executive of the Company of Entrepreneurs Trust, Mr Duncan Simms, formally declaimed the citation of the winner of the Entrepreneurs’ Award in Social Innovation 2024.
EASI24 was a highly competitive award, which drew admiration from across the charity sector for its blend of financial and human support for early-stage businesses and social enterprises with strong social and environmental purpose.
EASI24 Winner Tresacare was founded by Elizabeth Beh, and is a social enterprise supporting care workers. Tresacare’s mission is to improve both recruitment and retention in the care sector by coproducing networks and resources to reward, develop, and support those working in care. Presenting a high-potential solution, and with clear expertise both in human resources and the care sector, Tresacare impressed the judges and the audience with its well-formulated range of research-backed resources.
The prize of £10,000 is funded by the Company of Entrepreneurs Trust. The Trust also leverages the mentoring and professional skills of the Company of Entrepreneurs. Elizabeth is being mentored by Court Assistant Andrew Pullman.
Mr Gary Dixon, Chairman of the Trustee Board expressed his gratitude to the Trust’s EASI Supporters: Champions UK PLC, Tony Matharu & Integrity International, Tribe Advisory, Judy Hadden; and to Freeman Entrepreneur John Burton who had personally sponsored seats at the event for the Finalists.
Judy Hadden, the architect of EASI and herself a Past Master Entrepreneur, spoke of her admiration for the cohort of Finalists, and to the Winner, for the high-quality of their businesses and their innovations. She and her team was, she said, looking forward to delivering a programme of support to the entire 2024 cohort over the coming months.
EASI was first awarded in 2022, recognising innovative, ethical, and impactful businesses which address environmental or social challenges. Application for EASI25 will be open in January.
