The Company of Entrepreneurs Trust has made donations to the University of East London to help them support students who are setting up businesses. This, along with other sponsorship, has developed into a programme where 10 participants are going through the Idea section. This is supported with lectures and talks delivered by the UEL. Competition for these places was intense with over 300 applying. Ideas that have got through include low carbon construction, a start-up media company, luxury home products, web development, stress management and sports coaching.
The CoE through Outreach has been asked to find mentors to work with the students for 6 sessions from the week commencing 14th February. The requirement is for 10 mentors giving 6 sessions of coaching lasting between 30 and 60 minutes each which can be delivered either face-to-face or online. With such strong competition for places, UEL has been able to pick the most motivated so this will be an exciting and interesting project.
UEL is also looking for some judges on 30th March when the projects will attend a pitching event.
