Welcoming New Freeman Belinda Back

In the beautiful surroundings of Tallow Chandlers’ Hall, on a cool but dry summers’ evening, it was the privilege of Master Entrepreneur, Mr Mark Huxley to admit Belinda Back as the newest Freeman Entrepreneur on Wednesday 10th July 2024.

After an initial brief career working in the City in banking and for the Corporation of London, for almost 30-years Belinda has been at the helm of several startup technology businesses, the first of which she and her husband successfully sold in 2005 to a FTSE 250 company. Since then, she has made venture capital investments in the environmental sector. She set-up a technology Innovation centre, and she is back at the helm of their latest venture that focuses on developing “technology for good”  around the areas of flood management, rail safety, plus most topically the reduction of spills of plastics and sewage into our waterways and oceans.

The business already has customers ranging from Network Rail, Utilities, the Environment Agency, to Local Government and the governments of Belgium and the Channel Islands.

A committed philanthropist, Belinda’s hobbies include charity fundraising, gardening, and attending City Livery events.

The Master Entrepreneur welcomed Belinda into this esteemed and ever-growing community, citing her dedication and passion for entrepreneurship as an embodiment of the spirit of the Company’s innovation and excellence.
