The Lord Mayor takes to the ring!

The Lord Mayor, Alderman Alastair King DL, puts his red gloves on in aid of a swathe of good causes on the evening of Wednesday 8th October. Historic Guildhall will be transformed into London's hottest fight night with drinks, dinner, and entertainment aplenty.

During the drinks reception, there will be fitness, technique and pad work demos by junior boxers from South London. Then at 8.30pm, witness seven amateur fights between senior boxers at mixed weights. The British and American fighters will be expertly matched to provide high quality, competitive bouts.

To conclude the evening the Lord Mayor himself enters the ring for an exhibition bout against a special guest pugilist from New York. What a great way to complete his year in service!

The Lord Mayor's Fire Fight Night, on 8th October 2025 at Guildhall in the City of London is a “London vs New York” black-tie charity dinner boxing show, featuring two boxing teams from the New York Fire Department and the London Fire Brigade. The Lord Mayor is himself boxing on the show, as is the Head of Bloomberg Europe.

Supported by Bloomberg and Matchroom, with Barry Hearn attending along with a number of boxing legends. The evening is raising funds for a number of good causes:

• The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, which in turn supports homelessness and mental health charities

• The Firefighters Charity

• Amateur boxing clubs and their outreach programs, including Carney’s Community (which has been supported by City Bridge Foundation)

There has been national media interest in the boxing event and you will certainly want to be a part of this historic evening.
