KIHP Debate 2026 - Human Creativity Cannot Flourish in a TikTok World

The Knowledge, Information and Human Potential (KIHP) group of Livery Companies invites you to participate in its 2026 debate at Stationers’ Hall on Monday, 23rd March 2026, and provocatively considers that:

“Human Creativity Cannot Flourish in a TikTok World”

Enjoy a drinks reception in the beautiful Court Room, before you and your guests take your seats at round tables in the Great Hall to hear the debate between two ferocious and opposing pairs. Your speakers are:

  • Professor Ron Barnett is an Emeritus Professor of UCL, and a philosopher, theorist and writer with over 50 years' experience in higher education. He is currently co-editing a volume on AI, Ethics and Higher Education.
  • Professor Philip Booth is Professor of Catholic Social Thought and Public Policy at St Mary's University and Director of Policy and Research at the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales. He is a member of the Actuaries' Company.
  • Dame Alison Peacock DBE DL FRSA is an educator, public speaker, writer and originator of the Learning Without Limits approach to education. She is Chief Executive of the Chartered College of Teaching and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Educators.
  • Dr Brooke Storer-Church is CEO of GuildHE, the body representing 70 diverse higher education institutions, with creativity at their heart. Brooke has also held posts at two universities, the Higher Education Funding Council for England and the Office for Students.

At the conclusion of the Q&A, your table group will continue the discussion over a buffet supper and drinks.

Each table must declare its view at the end of the evening! Who will win?

Can Human Creativity still flourish in a world of artificial intelligence and increasing technological advances, or will we soon become so reliant on computers that our creative juices will dry up? Are our attention spans being limited by the ways in which we consume information?

Come to Stationers’ Hall and let your voice be heard!
