Silent Ceremony 2026

For over 800 years the new Lord Mayor of the City of London has been admitted in a ceremony known as the Silent Ceremony. It is conducted almost entirely in silence.

Members of the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs are invited to witness the historic ceremony at the medieval Guildhall, as Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley hands over to her successor.

Tickets for the Silent Ceremony are free, but are heavily oversubscribed and are allocated in September by ballot. Apply online at Silent Ceremony

Later that evening there will be a service of thanksgiving at the church of St Lawrence Jewry (a collection will be taken).
