Admission of Sheriffs 2026

On Monday 28th September, all are welcome to attend the admission of Sheriffs at Guildhall.

The two new Sheriffs Elect, Alderman Prem Goyal CBE and Alderman the Hon. Tim Levene formally take over from Alderman & Sheriff Robert Hughes-Penney and Sheriff Keith Bottomley at a short ceremony at Guildhall on 28th September.

Tickets are not required and normally there is plenty of seated capacity. The actual Admission ceremony is quite short and begins at 12 noon (attendees are asked to be seated by 11:40am).

Please note that most of those attending will be Sheriffs’ Breakfast invitees, however all are welcome to attend the ceremony. The dress code is lounge suit, but for the following Breakfast it is morning dress, consequently most attendees will be in morning dress or equivalent. Ladies are encouraged to wear hats.

Dress code: Morning Dress (black coat and waistcoat) or lounge suit
