Michaelmas Common Hall (Election of the Lord Mayor) 2026

Alderman Tim Hailes is being supported by the City of London for election as the City’s 698th Lord Mayor.


Liverymen Entrepreneurs who were clothed before 31st May 2025 can vote at this event. Please contact the Clerk's Office now to request a yellow admission pass to Common Hall. The voting areas will be full at Guildhall, and voting Liverymen should aim to arrive by 11am to secure a seat (must be seated by 11.30am).


Freemen and Liverymen of the Entrepreneurs' Company (who were not clothed before 31st May 2025), as well as guests, are very welcome to watch from specially-designated areas within Guildhall – it is free to attend and there is plenty of room.


Common Hall is preceded by a church service at St Lawrence Jewry. If you would like to attend the service, you must take your seat in church by 10.30am (there is likely to be standing room only, so arrive early).

 

For Common Hall, attendees must be seated by 11.30am in the correct area of Guildhall. 


Freemen and Liverymen Entrepreneurs and guests do not need a ticket for the public areas of Guildhall.

 

Cost: no charge (though there will be a retiring collection at the church)

Dress code: Morning Dress (black coat and waistcoat) or Lounge Suit
