City of London Briefing - November 2026

The Livery Committee runs City Briefings regularly. These are ideal for newer members, but are helpful refreshers for longer serving Freemen and Liverymen.

A typical course timetable:

5.30pm - Welcome

5.40pm - on holding elected office (talk by a Common Councilman or Alderman)

5.55pm - the role of the City of London Corporation (a representative of the Town Clerk's Department)

6.10pm - the Freedom of the City (a representative of the Chamberlain's Court)

6.25pm - Livery Companies: their membership and activities (a leading member of the Livery)

6.40pm - Panel discussion and Q&A

7.00pm - closing remarks followed by networking drinks
