For over 800 years the new Lord Mayor of the City of London has been admitted in a ceremony known as the Silent Ceremony. It is conducted almost entirely in silence. Members of the Worshipful Company of Entrepreneurs are invited to witness the historic ceremony at the medieval Guildhall, as Alderwoman Dame Susan Langley hands over to her successor. We are delighted to finally have a reason to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of St Ethelburga's Centre on Bishopsgate. This small church was destroyed by an IRA bomb in 1993, and resurrected as a centre for reconciliation and peace in 2002. St Ethelburga's Centre is a symbol of hope from the ashes, and dedicated to the sharing of knowledge to foster peace and understanding. There couldn't be a finer place to share knowledge, and members and guests are very welcome.

Emerging percussionist and composer Max Kroon’s newest project is a combination of free jazz, electronic ambient, spoken word, and folk. Featuring Benji O’Riordan (alto sax), Alex Bishop (guitar), and Annie Walton (cello), the group will be performing a combination of original compositions, and those by Paul Motian, Immanuel Wilkins, and others, exhibiting a wide pallet of textures, grooves, and soundscapes. This performance is part of the School’s annual Jazz Festival, presented in partnership with EFG London Jazz Festival, celebrating the creativity and originality of the Guildhall Jazz community. Rita W. Bologna will be installed as the 13th Master Entrepreneur at the church of St Lawrence Jewry next Guildhall at 5.30pm for 5.45pm on Tuesday 24th November. Her Wardens for the year are Mr Jat Wasu, Mrs Veronica Heaven, and Mr John Burton. All members and guests are welcome to the Installation and to a short and invigorating service of thanksgiving and rededication. The Hon. Chaplain, the Rev. Sophia Acland, will preach as well as a reading in Sanskrit from The Masters Chaplain Madhava Turumella. A retiring collection will be taken.

On Tuesday 24th November, Rita W. Bologna is installed as the 13th Master Entrepreneur, alongside her Wardens Jat Wasu, Veronica Heaven, and John Burton. Baroness Usha Prashar CBE speaks on behalf of the guests. The evening also celebrates the Master's heritage and Hindu culture. The Installation is the evening the new Master sets out her plans for the year, and one of the two occasions in the Company calendar where full ceremonial dress is still observed. Dinner is at the opulent Goldsmiths' Hall, one of the great livery halls and rarely open to a Company of our age. Places are capped at 200. The Installation Dinner usually sells out.
